Owner: Elisa of Elisa Shere Jewelry
Nicknames: Bunny, LouLou, Louis, Bunny Butt, Bug (he got the name bunny, because whoever docked his tale, cut it too short, so it kind of looks like a fat little bunny tail. Also, he hops like a bunny when he sees something good).
Breed: Jack Russel Terrier/Mystery Mix
Age: We're not totally sure, but our best guess is 4 yrs old
Favorite activities: Chasing squirrels and other critters, fetching balls, protecting the house, laying in a sunbeam, licking faces, doing tricks, lounging and not taking any nonsense from Ladybug or anyone else.

Acquired: We've had Louie for 3 years, his adoption anniversary date was June 4th. We picked this little guy up from the shelter, we didn't intend on adopting a smaller dog, but he just stole our hearts with his adorable personality.
If Louie could help with your shop, what would his job be?
Louie is a perfectionist, so probably bookeeping, keeping things organized, helping me polish and finish my pieces and of course, being a terrier, defending my turf.

Name: Ladybug
Nicknames: Principessa, Princess Puppy, Ladybottom, Bug, Crazylady (when she's being wild), my 4 year old nephew calls her "ladybuggy".
Breed: Basset Hound/Beagle
Age: About 1 year old
Favorite activities: hoarding the toys, going on walks and running free, being petted, snuggling, being sweet, and sneaking off to do something naughty.

Acquired: We just got Ladybug last November! We adopted her from the Baltimore SPCA, we walked in to "check out" dogs and there she was: scared and shivering in the corner of her "cell". She seemed so sweet and thought she would be the perfect compainion for our tough guy, Louie. And it's true, they are great companions. But, she is not timid at all. Once we brought her home, she showed us what a confident gal she is.
If Ladybug could help with your shop, what would her job be?
Licking envelopes, customer service. Sunshine commitee.

I am a metalsmith, so I require a full studio to get my work done. Luckily, our entire top floor is an lovely attic/loft with a full bathroom. Perfect for a metals studio! I am so lucky to have a studio that I love. Anyway, I fabricate all my jewelry from scratch using recycled sterling silver. As you can imagine, I am inspired by the land I live on, mainly the flowers, pebbles and textures that I see on my daily walks with my pups. I am also a modernist, so I like to think of my aesthetic as "rustic modern".
I live on a 23 acre farm in northern Baltimore County. We live in the guest cottage of this large estate. Our cottage is a converted log cabin, but looks like a cape cod. It's so beautiful to look out the window and see acres of rolling green hills, but still be relatively close to the city. We're very fortunate, our area is protected by the Maryland Environmental Trust, so it cannot be developed. Before this we always lived in the city, first Seattle, then Baltimore.
What is the best thing about being a pet parent?
Non-stop love! Seriously, I just think both our pups are the sweetest things ever. They make me laugh every day with the silly things they do. I feel so lucky.

I had two goldfish in junior high school and they were my first pets: Michael Jackson and Boy George. I think you can guess what era that was.
What animal does your personality most resemble and why?
What animal does your personality most resemble and why?
I'm told by my husband that I most resemble a Koala Bear. Mainly because he's really tall and I like to wrap my arms around him (corny, I know).

If you could have any animal for a pet, what would it be?
Definitely a squirrel, I think they are the cutest things ever. Although, that would never work with Louie in the house.
