Fresh Vintage…An oxymoron? In one way, perhaps, but as far as home décor goes, it is right on target. Vintage is the new black, so to speak. It has been for some time now, and I for one don’t see it losing favor any time soon.
Personally, I adore old things. They bring me so much pleasure. I love to think about the history of a piece, whether I know that history or not. There is no end to the variety and décor styles that you can achieve with vintage pieces. From cottage charm, to rustic chic, to mid century Palm Springs (think Rat Pack), and let’s not forget the every popular Mad- Men-esque rage that has hit the fashion and interior design world by storm.

I always like to focus on a décor theme that is affordable to most everyone who may be reading this post. Vintage is very often quite reasonably priced. You can find absolute one-of-a-kind treasures and pay only a few dollars, if you’re in the right place at the right time.
I would like to carry this Fresh Vintage Décor through to several posts. Focusing on different styles/themes of décor. For this first post, I decided to go with one of the styles I mentioned above…Mad-Men-esque. It’s fun, sexy, clean, simple and sometimes dramatic. I was able to find a cornucopia* of vintage items for that swanky look.

Vintage Barware Glasses

Bar Dishes

Starburst Clock

Brass Cranes

Black, Faux Bois and Metal Chair

Sundial Bookends
And there you have it, a little sampling of mid-century modern Mad Men décor. So fun, isn’t it? There are many treasures out there, just waiting to be claimed. I hope this post has inspired you to think of vintage as a fresh addition to your home décor plans.
Thank you so much for visiting. I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I’ll see you next time.
Until then… take care. xo Dennice
*My husband dared me to find a use for the word cornucopia at some point in this post, to carry on the Thanksgiving spirit. So there. I did it!

Great post Dennice...reminds me of my childhood...I think my grandparents had that clock in their living room...I'll have to hunt down some old photos and see if I'm right! xo J~
Love that you're featuring the Mad Men style on your post- it's my favorite right now. I love the glasses you posted; they would look fabulous in any bar in Palm Springs. I'm actually looking at some Mid Century homes for sale in Palm Springs, and am hoping to find some vintage pieces like those glasses to decorate with once I find a place. I want a mix of mid century and more modern and think something like that would be perfect. Thanks for the idea!
